MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1935. Local and General.

PBBLJSHE2) BVERY MONDAY, WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY AFTERNOON, Office and Work®: ROULSTON STREET, PUKEKOKE. ’Phone No. 2. P<o. Box i 4. *'We nothing extenuate nor aught set down in maßoe.”

Accident at Patumahoe. Suffering from injuries to an arm and a leg, received as the result of being struck by the butt of a tree he was felling at Patumahoe, Mr Leonard Tozer, aged 42, was admitted to the Auckland hospital on Saturday. Travellers Inconvenienced. Vandals have been at work in the Manukau Heads district. Yesterday a local resident and a stranger to the Awhitu Peninsula, had occasion to visit the Heads and was relying on the A.A. sign posts to direct him to his destination. He followed them and eventually found himself at the end of more or less, a blind road, and if he continued he would have had to negotiate fences, paddocks, valleys, hills and so on. He enquired at a farmhouse and discovered he was on the wrong track. He retraced his wheelmarks and arrived at the four crossroads, examined the sign post and found that someone had turned it round, with the result that the finger posts pointed to different directions to those intended. He was evenually directed to the Heads and upon his return to Pukekohe this morning, reported the matter to the Franklin agent of the Automobile Association.
