Good Quality Dairy Animals in Demand.

PUKEKOHE SALE. BONER PRICES HIGHER. PIGS AT RULING RATES. Good quality dairy animals were in demand at the Pukekohe sale conducted on Thursday by Alfred Buckland and Sons , Limited. Poorer sorts were difficult to quit. There was an average yarding. A full yarding of beef' and boner cattle came forward, the demand for beef being good. Late rates ruled, with boners commanding slightly better prices.

Pigs were penned in large numbers. All classes, excepting over-weight baconers, met with a ready sale at ruling rates.

Quotations are: — Dairy: Best young cows and heifers, £5 10s to £6 2s 6d; good, £4 to £5 ss; older and backward, £2 10s to £3 10s.

Beef' and stores: Heavy cows and heifers, £6 15s to £7 2s 6d; lighter, £5 7s 6d to .£6 ss; light, £3 10s to £5 2s 6d; other killable cows, £2 15s to £3 ss; best boner cows, £1 13s to £2 6s; others, £1 7s to £1 11s; freshconditioned store cows,. £3 5s to £4 2s; less conditioned, £2 7s 6d to £3; other store cows, £1 12s to £2 4s; cows and calves, £3 to £5 12s; best Jersey heifers, £2 9s to £3 4s; other yearling heifers, £1 4s to £2 ss; med-ium-weight steers, £lO 10s, light, £8 2s fid; service bulls, £3 5s to 9gns; potter bulls, £1 10s to £5 17s fid. Pigs: Choppers, £1 to £2 12s, according to weight; heavy prime baconers, £2 8s to £3 3s; medium, £2 12s to £2 16s; light, £2 7s to £2 10s; heavy porkers, £2 to £2 ss; medium, £1 5s to £1 18s; light, £1 10s to £1 4s; small and unfinished, £1 6s to £1 8s; good stores, £1 6s to £1 10s; smaller, £1 to £1 4s; slips, 14s to 19s; good weaners, 13s to 16s; weedy and small, 6s to 10s; service boars, ligns. to 3gns.
