The first half was rather interesting, and ended with the score, 18 —7 r the visitors’ points being from a penalty goal and a very nice try, which was converted. In the second spell, the whole of the Papakura team combined in throwing tiie ball about; even the full-back, often coming into the picture and passing with the forwards, with the result that the onlookers were treated to many spectacular passing bouts. Papakura’s inside backs troubled the opposition greatly, and were responsible for some fo the prettiest movements ever seen on the park. The latter lived up to his nick-name, cutting in beautifully and scoring somegood tries. Gray replaced Wilson as full-back (the latter being on the, injured list) and showed how fast he can run on more than one occasion. Ross scored four tries, Burgess three, Smith two, Cornthwaite and Pope one each. The last-mentioned converted four, while Cornthwaite converted one and kicked a penalty goal.
