RETURNED SOLDIERS.
RAIWARAMA MEETING. COMMITTEE ELECTED. With the view to covering more territory and increasing the membership of the Papakura branch of the Franklin Returned Soldiers’ Association. the branch president, Mr S. D. Rice, accompanied by executive officers, addressed a well-attended meeting at Ramarama on Thursday ingMr .T. S. Doull, who presided, introduced the speaker. Mr Rice outlined the aims and objects of the association, and also gave an indication of the nature of the work the association had been able to accomplish. The meeting elected a local committee. comprising Messrs Forbes Stewart, Perrin, Mahon and Markham. The last two mentioned will act as delegates to the Papakura branch.
The proceedings of the evening were enlivened with items by “Digger” Price and songs by Messrs L. Kernot. and T. C. Seaton.
