Enjoyable Concert Held at Tuakau.

GIRLS’ CLUB EFFORT. FUNCTION WELL ATTENDED. PRESENTATIONS TO PROMOTERS. An enjoyable concert arranged by the Anglican Girls’ Club at Tuakau, was held in the Memorial hall on Thursday evening. The programme, arranged by Mrs Primrose, assisted by Mrs B. Westland, consisted of 10 items of which “Jack Frost and the Snowflakes" was the most appealing. The white frocking of the girls and the falling of snow gave a very realistic effect while an imitation of skating was very appropriate. Another item which was thoroughly appreciated was the “Rainbow Ballet,” and here again the frocking was beautiful and colourful. The Japanese scene, “Cherry Blossom Time,” was unusual and the parts were excellently sustained. The programme was as follows: — “The Gondoliers” by the company with iMss R. Bush as soloist, Miss D. Codlin as a white roll, and Miss J. Cusack as a red rose; Irish jig, Misses J. Primrose and H. Duke; chorus, “An Old Fashioned Town,” parts being taken by Misses N. Finch (soldier), M. Westland (old man), M. Arrowsmith, O. Roberts and H. Duke (old fashioned people), G. Hamilton (visiting gentleman), B. Holland (school boy). In th|s item “The Old Spinning Wheel” was effectively sung by iMss Mi Arrowsmith and “We had Better Bide a Wee” by iMss R. Bush; violin solo, Mr W.
