BOMBAY WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.
YESTERDAY'S MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Bombay Women's Institute was held yesterday, Mrs J. B. McKinney presiding over 26 members. Visitors were present from Waihi and Whatawhata. A new member was welcomed.
Miss Lewis, honorary organiser for women's institutes, held a class for glove making in the morning and in the afternoon gave a demonstration of papier mache work. An instructive address on home nursing was given, by Miss Polden, a former matron of Thames hospital. Both were accorded votes of thanks.
The monthly competition for. puff pastry, judged by Mrs Massey* e ?was won by Mrs Masefield, Mrs Ware being second.
Arrangements were finalised for the masquerade ball to be held on August 17.
Hostesses were Mesdames H. Carter, James, King and Masefield.
