The South Auckland Primary Schools' Rugby Union's competitions for the Morrison shield and Gratitude cup will take place on Saturday, all games - commencing at 10 a.m. The draw is as follow: — Morrison shield: Pukekohe v. Waiuku, Domain No. 2, referee, Mr J. Allen; Franklin v. Manukau, Domain, No. 3, referee, Mr R. Freeman.

Gratitude cup: Pukekohe v. Waiuku, primary school, N0."2, referee, Mr Salt; Franklin v. Manukau, primary school No. 1, referee, Mr Shepherd.

RUGBY AT POKENO.

ST. STEPHEN'S JUNIORS v. POKENO

The St. Stephen's school junior team visited Pokeno on Saturday afternoon and recorded a victory by 21 points to 16 after a fast and interesting game. Early in the game, a "speculator by Cronin (Pokeno) saw St. Stephen's beaten by the bounce for Hirst to snap up well and with a nice trcky run went over to score near the posts. Munro easily converted. Pokeno 5; St. Stephen's 0. The blacks' next score came from a nice cut in byMcßobbie, who sent Munro over unopposed to score under the posts. Mcßobbie made no mistake with the kick Pokeno 10; St. Stephen's 0. Loose handling among the St. Stephen's backs saw Hirst intercept nicely with only the full-back to beat, which he did with a well-judged short punt. Munro failed to goal. Pokeno 13; St. Stephen's 0. it was now time for the school boys to show their worth and this they did with a vengeance. A clever solo run by M. Kururangi saw him cross and touch down under the timber, and immediately afterwards .1. Murray scored well out from a forward offen-

sive. Northcroft converted. Pokeno 13: St. Stephen's 8.

G. Porter and P. Francis were instrumental in putting St. Stephen's in the lead by scoring a try each, again under the posts, one of which Northcroft converted. St. Stephen's 16; Pokeno 13.

Hirst was the player responsible for equalising the score, with a nice solo run from the loose in the yellow's 25.

Munro failed with the kick. 16 all. In open play S. Enari beat Munro for a rolling ball and flashed across in a good position as time sounded. Northcroft converted. The final score was : St. Stephen's 21, Pokeno 16. Mr P. Smyth refereed.
