Proposed Recreation Ground.

At Monday’s board meeting Mr D. Weir raised a question bearing on the matter of a plan being drawn up by Mr Whitmore for a recreation ground on the cemetery reserve. Nothing bad been done yet, lie admitted, for a certain reason, and that was he \yould like to have a reasonable understanding with Mr Whitmore. What the board required was what the possibilities were with regard to sports likely to he played. Mr 11. E. McEntee said the road in question on one side of the reserve should be legally closed as sooner or later it would create a bother. It would also give extra frontage. Mr Weir said they wanted to know whether it would tm tennis, y bowls or croquet to be played there. Mr McEntee suggested a small com-' milt.ee to go into the matter and moved the chairman. Mr Baulf and himself to confer and go into The possibilities ! of the. reserve site.
