ENJOYABLE SCHOOL PICNIC

HELD AT GLENBROOK. The Puni school picnic was held at Glenbrook on Wednesday last. Although the weather was threatening in the morning the afternoon came out beautifully fine and a very enjoyable day was spent by parents and children, who numbered well over 100. On arrival at the beach the children were taken for a swim, after which they did justice to a very appetising lunch which had been prepared for them under the pine trees. During the afternoon races and novelty events were indulged in and every child received a good prize. Afternoon tea, ice cream and loilie scrambles brought! a very enjoyable day to a close. The school committee is indebted to all who gave donations and helped in other ways and especially to Messrs Fallows, Mason, P'reece and Silva who lent their lorries for the conveyance of the children.
