PUKEKOHE STOCK MARKET.
PIGS IN DEMAND
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons held their regular stock sale at Pukekohe on Thursday, when there was a good attendance of buyers.
Quotations are: —
Dairy cattle: There was a small yarding of dairy cows and heifers which sold from £(’> 10s to £7 10s.
Beef: Heavy cows and heifers made from £5 to £5 17s Gd; lighter, £3 to £4 15s: older and boner cows, 10s to 40s; light prime steers, £5 7s 6d to £5 15s.
Bulls: Bulls sold from £1 to £4 4s. Sheep: Shorn store lambs realised from 4s Gd to Gs 9d
Pigs: There was a good yarding and eonifTStition was spirited, the demand being keen, all classes selling readily. Choppers made from 25s to 455: heavy prime baconers, 43s to 475; medium, 36s to 41s; light, 31s Lo 345; heavy porkers, 2Gs to 295: light and medium. 18s to 245; best stores, 14s to 18s: slips, 9s to 12s; suckers and weaners, 4s to - 8s: sows due to farrow, 30s to 50s; Berkshire hoars, £4 4s to £5 ss; large white hoars, from 4gns to 4igns.
