THE PUKEKOHE CLUB.

PRESIDENT ENTERTAINS MEMBERS

On Wednesday last members of the Pukekohe Croquet Club were entertained by the president, Mrs C. K. Lawrie. The weather was ideal, and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent in playing progressive croquet for trophies donated by the president. The respective winners in the A and B grades were Mesdames D. Lawrie and J. Hart, the runners up being Mesdames A. C. Gill and W. H. Fausett. In addition, trophies donated by by Mesdames Bowman and Fausett for the official closing day games, which could not be played on account of the weather, were competed for. The winners were Mesdames Ingpen, Bowman and Armstrong, whose score cards showed points nearest to a hidden number.
