CHURCH CLUBS AT PLAY. WIN FOR ST. JAMES'. @ A match was played at Papakura 'in Saturday between the St. James' (Pukekohe) and Papakura Presbyterian tennis clubs. Details are, St. James' names first:— Ladies' singles: Mrs Fitness beat Mrs McLennan, 9 —7; Mrs Perkins beat Miss C. Brdwn, 9—6. Men's singles: T. Fausett lost to R. Garlick, 4—9; A. Gill beat J. Morris, 9—7. Ladies' doubles: Mesdames Fitness and Perkins lost to Mrs McLennan and Miss C. Brown, 2 —7; Miss N. Perkins and Mrs Shotbolt beat Misses T. Brown and K. Piatt, 7 —6; Misses Clarkson and B. Perkins beat Misses E. Brown and H. Garlick, 7—5. Men's doubles: T. Fausett and A. Gill lost to R. Garlick and J. Morris, 4—9; I. Fausett and R. Perkins lost to W. Alexander and E. Beggs, B—9;8 —9; J. Adams and J. B. Valder N. Bredin and W. Kidd, 9 —5.
