LONDON PRODUCE MARKETS.

BUTTER AND CHEESE FIRM. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice Iron/ its London office under date December 10: "Tallow. —There is a fair demand. Current quotations: Cood mutton, 28/0 per cwt; good beef, 27/- to 27/6 per cwt; good mixed, 27/- per cwt; gut, 22/- to 25/- per cwt. Also received as at close of business last week: — "Butter.—Firm, 11 i/- to 116/- per cwt. "Cheese.—Firm, white, 65/- to 66/per cwt; coloured. 63/- to 64/- per cwt. "Frozen Meat: Sellers trying to force sales of wethers have weakened prices. The market for ewes is steady and no material change is expected yet. The market is short of slocks of lamb until the next arrivals. There is only a poor demand for beef. Trade generally is slow. HASVItLTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering' Company Ltd. report,:--At the weekly stock sab; in the Frankton yards oh Tuesday December IG, we had a good yarding of all classes of fat and store cattle, with only ;i small yarding of fat sheep. Prices for ox beef showed a slight increase in value, while cow and heifer beef realised prices about equal to late quotations. Fat sheep showed practically no change in value. There was a good entry of store steers: good quality 2-year-old Polled Angus steers were in demand and sold at better than late rates. A good yarding of all classes of pigs came forward, baconcrs and porkers selling at equal to late rates, and store pigs showed a slight advance on last week's prices. We quote : Cattle: Fat bullocks, £l2 7s: light fat bullocks, £0 3s to £lO Is; fat cows and heifers, £7 10s to £8 Is; medium fat cows, £6 4s to £7 2s; light, £4 17s Gd to £5 15s; forward conditiilied, £i 2s 6d to £4 12s Gd; store, £2 10s to £3 15s; Hereford and Polled Angus cows and calves, £!'»; voalers, £1 7s to £3; 2-year Polled Angus steers, £5 lis to £6 4s; 18 months Polled Angus 1 steers, £5 2s; bulls, £2 7s 6d to £4 ; 15s; yearling steers, £2 10s. Sheep: Fat wethers, 17s Gd; prime fat lambs, 19s 3d to 21s 9d; lighter, 12s to 18s 4d.

Pigs: Heavy baconers,-£2 10s to £2 lis; heavy porkers and light baconers, £2 5s to £2 8s: light porkers, £1 18s to £2 3s: good stores, 35s to £2; slips, 29s to 325; weaners, 18s to 28s.
