METHODIST CHURCH.
SUNDAY SCHOOL GATHERING. HELD LAST WEEK. (Own Correspondent.) The annual gathering of the Sunday school children of the Papakura Methodist Church took place last week in the Methodist Hall, when there was an exceptionally large attendance of both adults and scholars.
The Rev .W. J. Elliott, pastor of th: : Papakura circuit, presided. Mr S. Evans, Sunday school superintendent, in his report, stated that the past year had been a successful one and a few more scholars were now on the roll than last year. The roll totalled about one hundred, and taking everything into account, he considered it very satisfactory. He extended hearty thanks to all who had helped in any way to further the good cause of the Sunday school.
During the evening a very amusing sketch was given by several of the scholars under the direction of Miss Muriel Ludwig. A number of items were also given which included pianoforte solos, reI citations, etc. The children gave groat pleasure with their sweet singing of several hymns.
