LAMBING SEASON WELL ADVANCED. FIRST LOT MARKETED. (Own Correspondent), The lambing season is now well advanced and sheep farmers report that lambs and ewes are doing very well. The first of ihe iambs were sold at Westfield last week and realised a. fair price, considering the size. Wireless sets are growing in popularity and about 12 are now operating in the district. One of the most recently erected sols picked up Brisbane this week. Mr C. R. Crispe j schoolmaster, and Mr D. M. Bryan, secretary of the A'. and' P. Association, have been spending a holiday at Helensville. DAFFODIL SHOW.
EXHIBITION AT CLEVEHON. FINE DISPLAY. (Own Correspondent). ! 1 Beautiful weather favoured the annual Doffidil Show, held under the auspices of the Clevedon Presbyterian Church on Friday. The sunshine and warm 1h of the early part of Ilie week encouraged the blooms Lo come 1o umlurily quickly, with the result that they were looking their best. The
hall made a pretty picture with its rows of flowers arranged on slands, well-lilled stalls, hanging plants, and decorated mantelpieces. The, hon. secretary. Miss A. Dow. Die treasurer, Mr A. Greenwood, and oilier organisers deserve every credit for their effort. The number of blooms. Ibe beauty of sweet peas and other early flowers, are a revelation In the gardening possibilities of the district. The judges were Mr H. B. .1. Bull, and Mrs and Miss Hull, and they commented favourably on the excellence of Die show, and expressed the opinion'that the quality of the flowers was improving year by year. t .The prize-winners are as follow: Gill blooms.—
