The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report : At our weekly sale held in .the Frankton yards on Tuesday we had a fair entry of steer and cow beef. There were no heavy cattle penned. Steer beef realised well up to last week s rates, while fat cows and heifers, all of medium quality, did not reach the ruling rates of late markets. A moderate number of store and dairy cattle was offered and competed, for up to prices realised at other recent sales. A small entry of sheep was submitted without any' improvement in prices. A good entry of fat pigs was offered without any alteration in the keen competition and values. Stores in some parts lacked the demand of last week’s inquiries. Quotations: Beef: Medium weight fat steers, £l4 12s 6d to £ls 12s Gd; good quality well done, light, £ls 10s to £ls 12s Gd: well done 2-year steers'; £l2 12s 6d to £l3 12s 6d: medium and plain steers, .£l2 12s 6d to £l4: medium weight cows, £9 5s to £10: light cows and heifers, £7 10s to £7 15s; unfinished, £5 Is to £5 15s: small vealers and runners £2 9s to £2 19s. Stores: Cows. £2 8s to £3 Is: 2-year steers, £5 17s: 2year empty Jersey cross heifers, £i. yearlings, £3. Dairy cattle: Best heifers at profit, £lO 10s to £l2 10s, ordinary, £5 to £5 10s. Sheep: Medium fat shorn wethers to 355: spring lambs, 28s to 33s 6d: forward hoggets in wool, 31s Gd.
