There was a big yarding of pigs, no fewer than 821 being penned. The sale, was, most successful and high prices.ruled. Quotations are as foL low: Extra heavy choice baconers, £5 to £5 13s; light and medium baconers. '£"4 5s to £4 16s; heavy porkers, £3 12s to £3 18s; light and medium porkers, £2 16s to £3 8s: small and unfinished, £1 18s to £2 lis. There was a keen demand for stores. Best •weaners to 265; smaller, 12s to 235; good framed and conditioned stores, 33s to 38s: slips, 27s to 30s.
LOAN. COMPANY. W. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., held their ordinary sale at Pukekohe on Tuesday when there was a fairly good yarding of all classes. There was a decided rise in the market for. dairy cows. Prices are as follow: — Dairy cattle: Cows, choice, £l4 to £l6; Jersey heifers, £l3 to £ls 10s: Shorthorn heifers, £9 10s to £l2: backward heifers, from £6 upwards. Beef: Light steers, £l2 to £l3 10s: cows, £l2 to £l4; heifers, £9 to £ll i2 * 6tL • ~»" 11 er stores: Three-year-olds, small, £6 15s to £7 ss; yearling Jersey heifers, • £4 ids to £5 ss; others, £3 10s to £4 10s. Bulls: Bulls sold from 6gns to 14 gns, according to breed and uality.
f TURUA. ■\ general improvement in the slock market was manifest at the Turua sale, conducted by Messrs A Buckland and Sons, prices being letter than the late high rates. There was a moderate yarding, but few dairy cattle. Best dairy heifers brought up to £ll 10s, and good dairy cows up to £ll. Beef was in keen demand.
