In view of the wonderful development in Hydro-Electricity throughout New Zealand there is a great demand for trained Electrical Linesmen and Jointers. The above Course has been specially prepared for the purpose of training men for this particular work. LIST OF SUBJECTS. ' Elements of Electricity and Magnetism. Electric Transmission. Underground Mains. Overhead Mains. Reading Working Drawings. And a short supplement covering timber and lead joists. The instruction? is imparted by means of papers selected from our j regular courses, and our aim is to give no more and no less than the actual requirements for the examinations. The courses are thus designed to meet the needs of practical electricians, and should not be taken by those with no experience of electrical work. For such there is a wide range of courses in our regular electrical curriculum, full particulars of which are given in the Electrical Engineering prospectus.

It should further be noted that the courses provide no instruction in Arithmetic, but we assume on the part of the student a sufficient knowledge of the subject to make ordinary calculations and to understand the simple formulae used in the lessons. Those who are weak in this respect can obtain the necessary preliminary instruc- j tion at a small additional cost. i
