A sensation has boon caused In the Highlands of Scotland by the death of rantain John Middleton, aged 40, an ex-officer of the Black Watch and manager of the family's estates in Perthshire. It is alleged that his father Major William Middleton. a septuagenarian. while Handling ; a double-barrelled gun. fatally sho the «nn at the family mansion at Baldarrooh The elder Middleton, who recently had been strange in his manner, has been detained on a charge of murdering his son. The accused man oonapsed under examination and was nlaced in the prison hospital The §on was seriously disfigured by the explosion of a bomb in war-time.
