CITY WRECKED BY COMMUNISTS.
POLICE INSUFFICIENT. By Cable—Press Association. (Received this day, 12.20 p.m.) ; LONDON, November 20. The Dusseldorf. correspondent of The Times, says that appalling havoc has beqn wrought by last, week’s, orgy of looting and rioting. Many towns present a tragic appearance. ’ There is hardly a street which does not shoxy signs of the disturbances, which are definitely traced to Communists, many of whom have been arrested after a search of dwellings, in which considerable stores of arms were discovered. The disturbances obviously were not work of hungry unemployed, for all sorts of shops, such as stationers’ and china goods warehouses, were attacked arid smashed up. in Sbbtfrbs evfer’y’shop Is boarded up and shutters have been put up. i!
