Public Notices. FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL. PUKEKOHE WAR MEMORIAL. THE PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL has decided that the names of soldiers who resided in the County area adjacent to the Borough, and who looked upon Pukekohe as their home town, shall be included in the list of names to be inscribed on the proposed Pukekohe War Memorial. RATEPAYRES AND RESIDENTS in the said County area are requested to submit names for inclusion in the above list to the undersigned not later than SATURDAY, the sth February, 1921. ALAN P. DAY, 330 County Clerk. FUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BY-LAWS. Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council, held on WEDNESDAY, the 19th day of January, 1921, tthe following resolution was passed, and will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on WEDNESDAY, the 16th day of February, 1921, at 8 p.m., at the Council Chamber, Edinburgh Street, Pukekoohe. RESLOUTION. In exercise of the Powers conferred upon it, Part XLII of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” the Pukekohe Borough Council hereby makes by way of Special Order, a By-law under “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908,” intituled “The General By-law, 1921,” to amend “The General By-law, 1913,” and the “General By-law, No. 3, 1919,” passed by the said Council on the 28th February, 1913, and the 20th August, 1919, respectively. The purport of such By-law is as follows: 1— To include Motor-cycles under the Definition of Vehicles. 2To substitute the word “Vehicle” for “Motor-car” in Clause 7 of “The General By-Law, No. 3, 1919.” 3 Prohibits driving of cattle, horses, etc., in Harris Street. A copy of the above By-law is deposited at the Council Office, where it can be inspected free of cost during Office hours until the date of the confirming meeting. J. F. DEANE, Town Clerk. 307

CONTRACT No. 482—For forming and culverting 67 chains 52 links of Lee’s Gully to Pollok Road. CONTRACT No. 483—For forming and culverting 36 chains 52 links of Ponsford’s Road. CONTRACT No. 484—For forming and culverting 67 chains 35 links of the Kohekohe.to Te Tore;Road, via Cooper’s. CONTRACT No. 485—For forming and culverting 23 chains 75 links of Waipipi to Kohekohe Main Road. CONTRACT No. 486—For the supply and delivery of 916 cubic, yards of sea shell on to the Waiuku* Awhitu Road. CONTRACT No. 487—For forming and culverting 37 chains of road from Pollok Post Office to Pollok Wharf. CONTRACT No. 488—For widening 13 chains 25 links of the Awhitu Central to West Coast Road, at “ Irwin’s.” CONTRACT No. 489 For widening 21 chains of Graham’s Beach to Palmer’s Road, “ Nelson’s Deviation.” CONTRACT No. 490—For forming and culverting 47 chains 75 links of Pollok to Awhitu Main Road. CONTRACT No. 191 —For forming and culverting SO chains of Awhitu Wharf to Central Road. CONTRACT No. 492—For widening and improving 1 mile 58 chains of the Awhitu to Orua Bay Road via Tram Gully. CONTRACT No. 493—For forming and culverting 61 chains of Dic-key-Gleeson Road. CONTRACT No. 494 —For forming 12 chains of Kohekohe Top Road at W. Gleeson’s. CONTRACT No. 495—For forming 41 chains of Waipipi to Kohekohe Top Road. CONTRACT No. 496— For forming 80 chains of Graham’s Beach to Palmer’s (Beach to Beveridge’s). Plans and specifications may be seen on and after TUESDAY, the Bth February, at the Council Chambers, Hall Street, Pukekohe, and also at the Waiuku News Office, Waiuku, and at Dickey’s Store, Awhitu Wharf. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted. Intending contractors will be shown over the above contracts as follows:—Contracts Nos. 481, 482, 483, 484, 485, 486, 493, 494 and 495, on THURSDAY, the 17th February, starting from the Waipipi School at 9 a.m. Contracts Nos. 487, 488, 489, 490, 491, 492,, and 496, on FRIDAY, the 18th February, starting from Dickey’s Store, Awhitu Wharf, at 9 a.m. J.
