ARBOR DAY OBSERVED IN DUNEDlN.—Children from six Dunedin primary schools planted 1,500 ineignis pine trees on the Education Board’s Mount Cargill reserve to-day. The Arbour Pay Committee, in conjunction with the Education Board, inaugurated the scheme for aftorestation at Blount Cargill five years ago, and since then 1,500 trees have been planted each year. The Mayor, Mr D. C. Cameron, is seen addressing the children before planting was begun. A belt of the five-year-old trees is in the background.
