RUSH FOiR PETROL. Following Mr Attlee’s request to >'e\v Zealand to cut petrol consumption, Wellington garages and petrol stations have been rushed with motorists filling cars and all sorts of containers. One petrol station proprietor stated that motorists were waiting for him to open his station this morning. Ho compared the demand with that experienced in 1910, when petrol rationing was introduced into New Zealand.—Wellington P.A. BRITISH PRIME MINISTER.
