. t N::w YORK. August 18. The national doubles championships began at Brookline, Massachusetts, today. Results.— Men’s Doubles.—Destremau (France) and Abdesselam defeated R. McKenzie (New Zealand) and T. Johansson (Sweden), 2-6, 12-10, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2; Bromwich and Long defeated It. Hart and G. Pero, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2; Falkenberg and Tom Brown defeated J. Peten (Belgium) and- A Vieiers' (Brazil), 6-3, 8-6, 8-6; Pancho Segura and Enrique Morea defeated T Mottram arid G. Paish (Britain), 6-2, (L 4, 7-5; Sidwell (Australia) and Talbert (United States) defeated R. Savitt and H. Stewart. 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 ; Pails and Geoff Brown defeated Maiimo Han (Tndia) and V. Rurac (Rumania), 6-2, 6-3, 6-0; Kranirr and ' Sehroeder defeated Steel and Stewart, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0;’ Greenberg and Sei.vas defeated Dorfman and Flam, 6-3, 6-1, 6-3: Gardner Miillov and Parker defeated Carter and Movlan, 6-3. 6-4, 6-2. Women’s Doubles.—Mesdanies Rurac (Rumania') and Maroorie Buej (’United States') defeated Mesdanies Bnstock and Hilton (Britain').) 4-6, 0-2. 6-1. Mesdanies Rostock and Hilton were the first seeded foreign nlavers.
