Monty Raves Over N.Z. Battle Dress
(Special.) WELLINGTON, July 17. The stories about Lord Montgomery’s liking for New > Zealand battle dress are all true. “ Are you having a new battle dress made before you leave New Zealand?” he was asked at the Press conference. “ Yes,” he answered, with enthusiasm, “of jolly good merino wool. ,1 arrived yesterday in a Canadian one. ,1. had written Sir Bernard Freyberg that I was running short of New Zealand ones, though I had this in my suit case”—indicating what he was wearing foi his first public appearance in the city. “ At 8 o’clock this morning, before some of you gentlemen were up, a tailor arrived m my room with two suits to be fitted on. " So I’ll go away with two new ones which will last me till I come back again—very good stuff!”
