ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

District Superintendent T. H. Mulholland, accompanied by District Officer H. M. Smith, visited Balclutha on Saturday night for a conference with the South Otago sub-district staff. The visiting distfict officers were accompanied by Corps Superintendent L. V. Stewart and Corps Officer W_. H: Saunders. A team from the Kaikorai Ambulance Division also traveled to Balclutha and gave an exhibition of bandaging. This team consisted of Divisional Superintendent A. Buckingham, Assistant Officer J. Macdonald, Privates H. K. Cochrane and G. G. Schmidt? Members of the Ambulance, Nursing, and Cadet Divisions had assembled in the hall, representatives being present from Balclutha, Clinton, Kaitangata, and Milton. Displays of work were given by the division, and the annual inspection of the units was made by the district superintendent. The following have been appointed by the priory commissioner:—Miss _G. C. Knowles, lady divisional superintendent Edith Cavcll Nursing Division; E. G, Hewitson, cadet officer Green Island Cadet ' Sub-division; Janet McElwee, sergeant Port Chalmers Nursing Cadets; Frank Purvis, sergeant 0.8.H.5. Cadet Sub-division; James Beeby, sergeant Balclutha Cadet Sub-division; Colin S. Smith, corporal Balclutha Cadet Sub-division: Maurice R Geer, corporal Balclutha Cadet Subdivision.
