BRISTOL FREIGHTER AIRCRAFT TO VISIT NEW ZEALAND
(P.A.) -AUCKLAND, July 16. The first aircraft of its type to come to New Zealand, the Bristol freighter Merchant Venturer, is due to .reach Whenuapai on Tuesday afternoon from Sydney by way of Norfolk Island. The machine, which is. making a tour, of Commonwealth countries to demonstrate the newest developments in air freighting, will- be in New Zealand for some time and will not leave fdr Australia again until August. The Merchant Venturer, although described as a'freighter, is a dual-pur-pose machine, and is fitted to carry about 14 passengers and two and a-hlf tons of freight.
