U.S. SENATE RETALIATES AGAINST VETO BY PRESIDENT TRUMAN

(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, July 14. The Senate, voting by 60 to 32, passed the Income Tax Reduction Bill and sent it to the White House. The Bill is the same as the measure which President Truman previously vetoed, except that it would operate from January 1, 1948. Last week Mr Truman announced that he would veto the, reintroduced measure if it passed the Senate. The Senate vote to-day would be insufficient to override his veto.
