CAR HITS POLE: PASSENGER HURT

Douglas- Grub, aged 33, of Ravensbourne, suffered shock and concussion after the car in which he was a passenger struck a telegraph pole half a mile on the city side ,of Ravensbnurne about 1.45 a.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Public Hospital, and was reported to-day to be in a satisfactory condition. _ The car was being driven by Franc Percy Guyton, when it left the road near the P.W.D. depot, hit the pole and rebounded to the other side of the road, Guyton and another man suffered shock and abrasions of a minor nature. A young women who was also in the car received only a severe shaking. FOOTBALLERS SUFFER CONCUSSION. Two footballers suffered concussion on Saturday afternoon and were admitted to the Public Hospital. '1 hey were Christopher Perry (22), of Sawyers Bav. who was admitted from the Oval at" 3.30. and Bert Hicks, a single man, of 191 Main South road, who was playing at the Gardens. He was admitted at 5.15.
