SECOND GAOL BREAK WITHIN MONTH FROM MOUNT CRAWFORD PRISON
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 28. AVellington had its second gaol break within a month when Kenneth Hugh Bennetts, 29, escaped from Mount Crawford prison about 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon. A search party was quickly organised, but he has not yet been apprehended. Bennetts was serving a term of three years for breaking and entering. He was sentenced in the Supreme Court at Napier to four years’ imprisonment, but the term was later reduced. Early this month three prisoners escaped from Mount Crawford and two of them got as far as Palmerston North before they were recaptured. The other gave himself up in Wellington after less than 48 hours of liberty.
