The wall of the Presbyterian Church at Maori Hill was damaged be fire yesterday as a* result ol rubbish being burned near the building. A defect in an electric water heating system at a dwelling at Alva street caused slight damage to the interior of one room. The City Fire Brigade was called at 3 p.m. A chimney fire at Main South road at 6.17 p.m. and a false alarm from Napier Motors at G. 46 p.m. brought the brigade out. A minor outbreak on the Anderson’s Bay railway bridge was extinguished at 9.50 p.m.
