HOPE FOR THE DAY WHEN HEADLINES WILL TELL OF PEACE
(Rec, 8 a.m.) PRAGUE, June 3. The Foreign Minister, M. Masaryk, in opening the second congress of the International Journalists’ Organisation, at which delegates from 30 countries were present, said they represented greatly differing political outlooks and views on the freedom of the Press, but had a common desire — namely, to safeguard a lasting decent
and socially just democratic peace. “ Tf you honestly try to agree, at least on the fundamental questions,” continued M. Masaryk, “ We shall see the day when' the present large, headlines telling us daily of international tension growing will disappear, making way for smaller but more constructive headlines that agreement is not only possible but imperative, and peace will ne maintained for ever.”
