It is estimated that 100,U00 took part in the march' and later gathered in Union Square, where they heard speakers, including the Negro singer, Paul Robeson. Roman Catholics throughout the United States, Canada, and Hawaii joined in special prayers “ for the Russian people and for the millions living in Communist-dominated lands.”
