PORT CHALMERS SUB-BRANCH
The annual meeting of the Port Chalmers sub-branch of the Plunket Society was presided over by the Mayor, Mr H. S. 'Watson. In presenting the annual report, Miss N. Broadley, the honorary secretary, said that the street day in Port Chalmers had been a great success, yielding over £SO. A mothers’ club had been formed during the year by Sister Carter, the pre-school nurse, and was being well attended by young mothers. Reference was made to the passing of two patrons of the society, Messrs Isaac Stevenson and John Watson. The treasurer, Mrs J. T. Knewstubb, in presenting the balance sheet, said that the society was in a good financial condition. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patrons, Mrs T. Seolluy and Miss A. Stevenson; president, Mrs H. S. Watson y vice-presidents—Mesdames J. Mead. .T. Dalaiel. and J. Styles; secretary, Mrs .1. Fraser; treasurer, Mrs J. T. Knewstubb; committee— Mesdames J. Mat-thews. R. Coats, V/. Harris. A. B. Rov. R. Ford. D. Matheson, C. Spiers, W. D. Sutherland. M. Cramond. N. Broadley, T. Harrison, and A. O. Notman. An address on u The Child, the School and Education ” was given by Mr A. C. Notman.
