PHOSPHATE CONFERENCE
THREE COMMISSIONERS IN NEW ZEALAND '(P.A.) AUCKLAND, April 11. For the first time in the history of tjie organisation, three commissioners of the British Phosphate Commission will be together in New Zealand on Monday. The United Kingdom representative, Mr W. Bankes Amery, and the Australian representative, Mr W. M. Webster, accompanied! by the general manager of the commission, Mr A. H. Gaze, of Melbourne, will arrive on Monday morning from Nauru and Ocean Islands, in the commission’s motor ship, Trienza. They will be joined here by the New Zealand comissioner, Sir Albert Ellis, of Auckland, and they will attend a phosphate conference in the South Island later this month. Mf Amery arrived in New Zealand from England early last month and left later for Melbourne, where he joined the Trienza on her current voyage to load phosphate at the islands for Auckland. During the call at Nauru , and Ocean Islands, he and Mr Webster inspected the work of restoring war damage to the equipment there. The Trienza, which is carrying only its third post-iivar shipment' of phosphate from the islands to Auckland, will remain at anchor until a berth becomes available on Wednesday.
