EHGLAND V. OTAGO Great interest is being taken in the visit of the English cricket team which will play at Carisbrook on Saturday, Monday, and' Tuesday, March 15, 17, andl 18. , The players selected for the. fifth test and R. Pollard are. visiting New Zealand, so patrons will see the cream of the English team in action. It will be an education to see such batsmen as Hammond, Hutton, Compton, Edrich, Washbrook, Yardley, Fishlock, and Ikin, and bowlers of the standard of Wright, BedSer, Pollard,, Smith, and Edrich. Critics in Australia consider Washbrook the finest cover point that has ever visited Australia,
Otago will have a'good all round side, which is expected to make a good showing against the visitors. The hours of play will be from 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1.45 to 3.45, and 4 p.m. to 6 ip.m. Details are announced. Arrangements have been made for a light luncheon and afternoon tea at Carisbrook, and there will also be a pie and soft drink stall.
