ANGLO-EGVPTIAN TREATY
REASONS FOR SUBMISSION TO U.N.O. TWO STUMBLING POINTS (Rec. 11.20 a.m.) CAIRO, Mar. 3. The Prime Minister, Nokrasliy Pasha, stated that Egypt had decided to submit the question of treaty relationship with Britain to the United
Nations Security Council because of Egypt’s inability to obtain satisfaction on two essential points _ which the Egyptians unanimously claimed. These were:— 1. The immediate evacuation of- British troops, which would not be conditioned by the treaty. 2. Self-government for the Sudanese and the restoration of Egypt’s rights to the administration of the Sudan. Nokrashy added that Egypt was m a better position and was more anxious than Britain to prepare the Sudan for self-government.
