BUFFALO' TEACHERS’ STRIKE
ADMINISTRATION'S OFFER ACCEPTED
(Rec. 8 a.pi.) NEW YORK, Mar. 2. The nation’s biggest teachers’ strike at Buffalo ended last night, when the Buffalo Teachers’ Federation agreed to accept the salary increases recommended by the city administration. The teachers accepted the mayor’s offer to provide a 300 to 625d0l pay increase for the school year 1947-48. When the federation called the strike last Monday it closed the city’s 1)8 public schools, and halted classes for 71,000 children. It had demanded an immediate increase of 1,025d01, plus a 500dol cost-of-living bonus.
