CLASSIC RACES
NOMINATION SYSTEM CHANGED (P.A.) _ WELLINGTON, March 3. Scratchings to-day for the Wellington autumn meeting, apart from 'Beau Le Havre, were Welcome Guest for the St. Leger, and Thimble for the Plunket Nursery. _ The Wellington Racing Club has decided to abandon the„ system of taking entries for its classic races when horses are yearlings. In future nominations for this type of event will be taken on general entry day for the meeting at which the paticular classics are run! This will not. apply to the Wellington Guineas, run in October, 1947, or the New Zealand St. Leger Stakes, run in March, 1948, for which entries have already been taken. ■>
