Prior to his departure .for the national championships, W. H. Nelson wished to have a fast, workout over two ; miles. His keenest .rival, W. N. Burrows, ran with him and set the pace, so as'to give the chaffipion oyety opportunity of getting the maximum benefit'from his training. Such a gesture is the hallmark of a true sportsman.
