REQUEST TO SELL DENIED
(Rec. 11 a.m.) SHANGHAI, Feb. 19. The Prime Minister, Mr T. V. Sooug, has issued a statement denying the New York report that the Chinese Government had requested permission to sell Unrra goods in the black market. Mr Soong said: “ This
false report is characteristic of similar reports disseminated by certain quarters persistently trying to misrepresent the Hurra and the Chinese National Relief and Rehabilitation Administration in China and disturb Chinese - American relations.” He added that the very idea of Unrra sanctioning the sale of its goods, on the black market stretched credulity.
