(Roc. S a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 15. This was (football’s blackest peacetime day since the blizzard of February 25. 1933. Matches cancelled today because of ice-bound grounds included 31 of 58 English and Scottish League Soccer games. Only one London ground, wliere Watford visited Crystal Palace, was playable. Results generally went in favour of the home teams. SOCCER. League One.—Blackburn drew with Derby, 1-1; Blackpool beat Preston, 4-0; Everton beat Sunderland, 4-2; Middlesbrough beat Bolton, 3-1; Portsmouth beat Aston Villa, 3-2; Stoke beat Chelsea, 6-1. League Two.—Birmingham . beat Coventry, 2-0; Bury beat Milwall, 5-2; Luton drew with Chesterfield, 1-1; Newcastle lost to Southampton, 1-3; Plymouth beat Leicester, 4-0; Swansea beat Newport, 5-1. League Three.—Southern : Bournemouth beat Bristol, 1-0; Bristol Hovers beat Queen’s Park Hangers, 3-1; Crystal Palace beat Watford, 2-0; Norwich lost to Exeter, 1-3; Torquay drew with Ipswich, 0-0. Northern: Carlisle beat Halifax, 1-0; Chester beat Crewe, 2-0; Darlington lost to Hill, 0-2; Oldham lost to Wrexham, 1-s'; Southport beat Stockport, 4-1; Tranmere beat Gateshead, 1-0. Scottish League.—First division: Hamilton lost to Clyde, 1-2; Morton lost to Hangers, 0-1. Second division: Ayr beat Dunfermline, 3-1; Dumbarton drew with Alloa, 2-2. Scottish Cup.—Second round: East Fife beat East Stirlingshire, 5-1. RUGBY LEAGUE.
