AMERICAN HEAVILY FINED

CHARGE OF TAKING MONEY OUT OF GREECE (Rec. 8 a.m.) ATHENS, Feb. 16. The Greeks are detaining in military barracks a United States businessman named William Talton, after fining him £52,000 on a charge of attempting to take money out of Greece. Talton protested that lie brought the money into Greece, but was given no opportunity to prove his case. The Greeks arrested him as he was embarking at the airport last Thursday, and held him until his trial. He was carrying £7,000.
