GUTENBERG BIBLE

SALE IN BRITAIN IN MARCH BOUGHT IN 1908 FOR £2050 (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent.) (Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 28. One of the last of the original Gutenberg Bibles remaining in private ownership in Britain is to be offered for sale at Sothebys on March 11. The Bible, which is in two volumes, is the property of Mr Charles Dyson Perrins of Malvern, who bought it in 1908 for £2,050. To-day it is expected to bring a huge sum. The two volumes are among the original first printed editions of the Bible carried out by Gu>?nberg on his press at Mainz, in 1455.
