MEN'S SOFTBALL
TEAM TO PLAY SOUTHLAND The men’s softball selectors, Messrs T. Allen and J. Dymond, have announced the following team to represent Otago in the match against Southland at Invercargill on February 8: Pitcher, Shephard; catcher, Birtles; first base, Dickison ; second base, Hellyer; third base, E. Blaney; short stop, Mann; left field, Garden; centre field, Letherby; right field, Vickers. First emergency. Petrie; second emergency, Mercer. The manager and coach of the team will be Mr G. Stephens. COMPETITION MATCHES. Results of matches played in the club competition on Saturday are as follows : First Division.—Sargood’s Dynamo 20, City United 9;-Bears 28, Hillside Red Sox 24. Second Division.—Bear Cubs 40, Hillside Demons 34; Cardinals 11. 45, Spitfires 18; Bear Cubs 40, Spitfires 16.
