COMPANY NEWS. Amalgamated Wireless (Australasia) Ltd. proposes to.reduce its capital, and make a return to shareholders, and a special meeting of shareholders will be held on February 3 to consider a resolution to effect this purpose. The resolution is ■ designed to ensure that £1,400,000 compensation paid by the ‘Commonwealth to the company for its telecommunication, assets , and business, reaches shareholders, other than Government shareholders, in accordance with the arrangement made between the company and the Commonwealth. It is proposed to reduce the capital from £2,250,000 in £1 shares, of which 2,106,346 have been issued, to £479,898 2s in- 1,129,172 shares of 8s 6d each NEW OFFICIAL LISTING. The shares of Turnbull and Jones Ltd., electrical engineers, Wellington, have -been officially listed by the New. Zealand Stock Exchange. A public issue of 40,000 5 per cent, non-cumulative preference shares of £1 each at par and 60,000 £1 ordinary shares at 22s 6d was made by the company in 1945.
