JAPANESE EARTHQUAKE
FINAL ESTIMATE OF CASUALTIES (Dec. 8 a.m.) TOKIO, January 9. The United States army’s final estimate of casualties in the recent earthquake shows that nearly 1,600 were killed, 1,600 injured, and more than 150,000 made homeless.
