COLUMBA. COLLEGE

The annual prize-giving of Columba College was held in Constance Hall on Thursday evening before a large gathering of parents and friends. The chairman of the Board, of Governors, Mr James Hogg presided, and commended all associated with the school on the excellent standard! of the year’s performances. He paidi a tribute to the former chairman of the board, Mr S. P. Caineron, and to the speaker of the evening, Professor F. W. Mitchell, professor of education at Otago University. Professor. Mitchell addressed the girls on the attributes of a cultured mind, and stressed the importance of humane feeling, sensitivity to beauty, and capacity . for thought.
