EXECUTIVE MEETING • At, a meeting of the. executive _ of the., Otago Lawn: Tennis Association the president, Mr E. lluhen, occupied the chair. • ; 1 . ‘ Correspondence was received from Maniototo, Vincent, and Dunedin Tennis Union Sub-associations regarding the Qtago-Southland Sub-association match, and it was decided that this match should be played at Dunedin on February. 1, and-that each sub-associ-tion should bo asked to nominate not more than four men and four women for selection, the final selection to .be in the, hands of the.. Otago. Selection Committee. Nominations will not be received later than December 20. Ap invitation from Vincent to an Otago team to .visit,-its district on December 14 was accepted. ;In response to requests from the Pounawea and Garston Lawn Tennis :Qlubs, ,' copies of- the rules of lawn tennis were forwarded. Advice was received from the Umpires’ : Association 1 ' that the new edijon of rules would soon be available. If was .requested that the association should assist in obtaining more members.—lt was decided that the Umpires’ Association should be recommended to all tennis players, and that they should be asked to attend an early meeting. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association advised, in reply to the-. Otago Association’s query, that the itinerary of tlie. Australian players had not yet been arranged, and .that the ' places at which;they would play had not been chosen; ~ , 7 ... 1 .. : f The , : ,;New Zealand Association also ndyised that the; New Zealand junior championships .would be played at Hutt Valley from January 21 to 25, entries to close on January 11.—It was decided to circularise all sub-associa-tions accordingly, and to state that nominations must be in the hands of the Otago Association not later than December 10.
In reply to a letter from the Pine Hill Club regarding the congestion on courts on Saturday afternoon, when home matches were being played, the club was to be advised that mutual arrangements could be made to play part or the whole of the match on Saturday mornings. The executive unanimously agreed that delegates should meet half-yearly, instead of - yearly, as previously.
