ANNUAL MEETING The seventeenth annual meeting of the Otago Electrical Tradere’ Association was held on Wednesday last.. Mr F. L. Eastgate was hr the chairi The annual report presented by the secretary- disclosed a 'slight increase in membership. Finance has been good, \ and the year had finished with' a credit in the association’s books, but a slight debit in the union accounts. The shortage of a number of essential’lines was mentioned, including conduit-and V.I.R. cable. In moving the adoption of the report, the Chairman referred to the ‘disappointment that had' been experienced in the pa6t year. Supplies had been coming forward very slowly, and, with the heavy post-war demand, had been found to’ be totally inadequate. The retention of so many irksome controls had also made trading very difficult. He expressed the hope that the coming year would see an improvement Though "he realised that the demands in England and in Europe would be heavy for some time to come. The election of officers resulted in Mr G. Anderson'being appointed president. Mr D. H. JSliqrtt, vice-president, Mr C- J. Darracott. secretary and treasurer, and Mr J. B. Sutherland, auditor.
